Bansko is gaining popularity and recognition as a winter destination for nomads and tourists alike, due to its affordability, varied winter activities, and accessible location. While a week-long winter vacation in Bansko can be good fun, nomads are able to truly get a feel for Bansko’s vibe and community.

Affordability:

Sure, Bansko is easier on the wallet than most winter destinations. With the cost of living at 1/3rd the cost of living in the U.S. the price of a 3- or 4-star hotel can seem like a steal. But as a nomad booking a stay for a month or months at a time, you can stretch your dollars even further. Many Bansko residents rent out rooms or whole apartments for about €250 a month — or less.

Other ways your dollar can go further is with the Bansko ski pass. While €750 might seem pretty costly, if you’re hitting the slopes a few times a week for a couple of months, the pass ends up saving you money in the long run.

Time:

Another reason to visit Bansko as a nomad is time. Hear me out. During peak season in Bansko, a one-week stay might feel rushed, especially if much of your time on the mountain is spent waiting in queues, or trying to squeeze in multiple activities in one day. At Coworking Bansko most members stay for at least a month, so you can familiarize yourself with the town, the restaurants, the events, and befriend the locals. Extending your stay in Bansko will give you enough time to hit the slopes, find the secret hot springs, go hiking, and join in on all Coworking Bansko community events.

Building Relationships and Community:

One of the great things about being a digital nomad is that you can pick a place and make it your temporary home for a while. With the benefit of being able to work and play as a Coworking Bansko member, you can find other nomads who share similar interests, or who can turn into collaboration partners on projects. Coworking Bansko has a nomad community of 100+ members, so it is easy to find someone to work alongside with or explore the town.

Lastly, living as a nomad in Bansko will allow you to familiarize yourself with the Old Town as well as the ski-resort area of Bansko, and live like a local. You will soon find yourself befriending shop owners and restaurants owners, who are all kind and inviting people.
